Carol's Story
After graduation, I attended college, then went to work at the Naval Post-graduate School in Monterey at their medical facility. Moved back to Watsonville and went to work for a Brokerage Company. Upon visiting my brother and his family in New Mexico, I met and later married my husband, and have been a resident of New Mexico for the past 26 yrs. We have no children, just pets.
I have been involved in volunteerism for many years and am active in our community. I've been a choir director in our church, scripting and directing their first Christmas musical. I continue to sub at various churches when they need a pianist. I'm also pianist and song leader for a women's CBS as well as musician for the Emmaus Community. Because I have a heart for animals, I serve on the Board of our local Humane Society. Currently, I'm involved in a dance troupe, learning Hebraic Dance (a great source of exercise). I'm also politically active.
For fourteen years, I organized and hosted an annual Arts & Crafts show at our County Fairgrounds, bringing in artesans from surrounding communities, Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma and Iowa,
and have only recently retired from that venture.

mittee, we organize events for fund raising purposes all during the year in preparation for our free to the public, city-wide, New Years Eve celebration, hosting entertainers such as Charlie Daniels, She-Daisy, Diamond Rio, Ty England, Dan Seals and others. For a town of 13,500, we are proud of our accomplishments.
I have enjoyed living in a small community that is very family oriented, and supportive of its schools. Our High School football team has won the NM State Championship for the past several years. Every Friday during the school year, all of the downtown merchants put out an orange flag in front of their businesses in support of the school's football team. Needless to say, orange is a popular color here and the town is lavish with team spirit. Every Friday night, the bleachers are full of orange-clad supporters. With every touch-down, at every game, there is a fireworks display like the 4th of July! I've never seen anything quite like it.
Well, I haven't become rich or famous, nor written any books or made any movies. Except for my one trip to Asia, I haven't been a world traveler, but it's been a good life and one that I've enjoyed. Even in the troubled times, God has been there.
