Veronica's Story
I moved to New Bedford in 67 and worked in New Bedford,/Acushnet area for several years in different sales, customer service, administrative positions. Became engaged and moved to RI in 1975 where I started a family and attended College. My employment was general in the Social Services field. At one time was a Brownie leader, member of a Dungeon & Dragons group, helped with Pony Club activities and served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. After a long, drawn out divorce and the death of my parents and one brother, I moved to Central Florida in 1992 and continued to work in Social Services until 1997, then transitioned back to administrative assistant work. The pay in Florida is not high in relation to the cost of living here. In 1962 I applied for early SS retirement. At this time I work as an independent Massage Therapist and part time in an Insurance Office as administrative support.
Fortunately my home is paid and I do not have a car loan. I do have 2 loving Cats: one I adopted and o...Expand for more
ne adopted me. My two children live in Florida also. My daughter is a Mathematics professor and my son is an IT engineer. I only have one grandchild: Arianna who just had her 18th birthday, signed a contract with a Ballet Company and is now living with a roommate in her first apartment. All very exciting stuff. I Love living in Central Florida. There is always a free event somewhere and lots of varied activities. The weather can be brutally Hot June through August and that's when my yard could become a jungle if I don't keep up with gardening, but the remainder of the year it is wonderful. Flowers bloom year round, the "Ocean" (such as it is in FL) is 1 - 2 hours away, the interstate traffic is crazy/brutal and there are some wonderful and lovely historic towns to explore.
I hope to renew relationships with some of my classmates through this site and share where you have been for the past several decades. Looking forward to the reunion in 2018 and seeing you in Fairhaven once again.
