Robert's Story
Enlisted for a year after graduation, stationed at Ft Belvoir, VA.. Then to West Point. Graduated 1975. Commissioned Field Artillery. Airborne qualified. Commanded a Basic Training Company at Ft Leonard Wood, Missouri. While there, earned an MA in Management from Webster University. Then Commanded a nuclear-capable heavy artillery Battery in Babenhausen, Germany. Then to the Artillery Advanced Course at Ft Sill, OK and on to Ft Eustis, VA where I managed Army Aviation tactical training efforts. As a civilian once again I went to Long Island to work with Lockheed on Army Aviation simulator, NASA robotics, and other government contracts. Then to New Hampshire/ Florida to work on Air Defense, DARPA and NASA programs. Had the opportunity to live in Israel, Greece, Turkey and UK with our allied military. Then to San Diego and CUBIC Corporation to work on military training, weapons, night vision, and inertial guidance systems. s seeking to understand what sort of technical systems they desired and determining what we could do to develop and build them. During this time I spent a year in Iraq helping to train the NEW Iraqi Army and an additional year on staff with the 1,000 American firefighters we had in-country. Upon returning home, I took the position of Vice President with a communications company developing DRM technology, and finally became a member of their Board of Directors while also serving as a consultant for such Army programs as AID (Automatic Injury Detection) and XEROWIND (a sniper aid which calculates wind effects throughout the path of the bullet). Somewhere along the way I became certified as a high school Physics teacher in CA, a certified gunsmith, married my SUPERWIFE (who is a CPA and tax attorney) and raised my son who graduated Cornell and Fordham Law and is now a full partner in a major NYC law firm. I am now enjoying life in our jacuzzi, walk-in tub and at the beach in Victoria, TX.
