Francine's Story

In a nutshell: I grew up in the north end of town. I lived with my parents, grandmother, and 4 brothers. Yes, I was the only girl born smack dab in the middle. If you were to look for that street today, you would never find it since the state built a highway exit right on that spot! When I was about 13, we moved to the "highlands", and I had to change schools for 8th grade. It's funny since I attended pre-primary through 7th and made a lot of friends, but to this day I can remember only a handful of names. I went to Sacred Hearts Academy for 4 years, and did fairly well in the smarts department (believe me I'm no genius!). After graduating high school, I attempted to follow in my mothers footsteps and become a nurse or med assistant, but that was not to be. After a few hours of orientation, I walked out of the class, never to return. So, I worked part time at Almac's (does anyone remember where that's at?) and went to the beach when weather permitted. ng for his mother. Upon arrival, I interviewed at the company I worked for 30 years and was hired at an entry level position in the financial support area. My latest assignment was as a supervisor in accounts payable/customer service department. The company treated me well, but I like to think that I had a lot to do with it. In May of this year, I retired to take care of my mom who was more seriously ill than I originally thought. Things were not all rosy: I lost my grandma in 1980, my brother in 1992, my dad in 2001, and alas, my dear mom in July 2010. Trying to manage life without these dear people. We are selling the old homestead too! Next Monday, I will start back to work in a long term contract position. Maybe if I perform as well as the last 30 years, I will be even more successful. I am a terrific friend to people who want me to be, I am a compassionate listener, and my loyalty lies with my family foremost. Would like to hear from anyone who remembers.... Frannie do what's expected and then some - show up to work everyday unless you're on a stretcher gasping for your last breath
