Shirley's Story

I am happy, outgoing, helpful, funny and a good friend. "I don't do to others what I don't like for myself" I always wanted to be an artist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. So as it turns out, they were correct. My relaxations are: spiritually. I try to seek God every day of my life. Singing to the Lord releases my soul and gives me Peace! :) Being in love "out of the blue", it was my first "crush"... I was very shy! I am patient, respectful and very responsible. My heroes are: God (HE gave me life and saved me), my maternal grandparents (they raised me and gave me values), my mom....(she is SUPER Mom!) and my husband...TOGETHER WE ARE ONLY ,"ONE"... I was born in P.R., moved to N.J. in 1985 and returned to P.R. in 1990... I missed my country, family and friends! Wanda, Brenda and Eileen...they were good friends! I like to see "Gray's Anatomy", "Yes Dear", "Every body loves Raymond", "Famil...Expand for more
y Guy" and other interesting things... I am obsessed with my "boricua" traditions... the sounds of "EL Coquí", the smell and sweetness of "Coconut Candies", "Arroz con Dúlce", "Tembleque" and my favorite..."Besitos de Coco" (Coconut Kisses) mmm...yummy! Life doesn't always turn out the way we expect. When I gave birth to my 1st baby shortly after her birth (2 months later) I was rushed to the hospital, my appendix exploited leaving me in a very difficult life threatening situation hospitalized for 3 - 4 weeks. And the only thing in my mind was my baby... I missed her very much! But in Gods plans everything works for good...God made a miracle and brought me out from death to life... I have learned from my kids...to be a "KID" again. We play in the rain, we are the best friends ever! This must be their first experiences in life, but for me, I had the chance to be a KID once again...They are my pride and joy!... Thanks to God!
