David's Story

Starting after graduation I left for the Air Force with my first duty station after completing basic training was in Montana. In 1985, I move to England (just outside of Oxford) where I met my wife. In 1988, we move to New Jersey where we stayed for a little while. Actually my wife stayed I was busy running around the world; however, I was home long enough to bring my daughter into the world in February 1990. In August I left for Saudi Arabia for the first Gulf War and returning home in late march of 1991. Then in 1992 I moved to Illinois, just outside of St. Louis, until 1994. When we decided it was time to return to Europe and this time the AF sent me to a small Italian Air Base located in between Milan and Verona. Only about 100 Americans on the base and very few individuals who spoke English outside of the base; therefore we learned to speak the best Italian that we could under the circumstances. My son was born while we lived in Italy; actually he was born in Germany in January 1996. Because of medical reasons we traveled to Germany for the medical care. We lived in Italy until 1997 when I was given a chance to move to Germany. We stayed in Germany until 2003 and loved every...Expand for more
minute. In 2003, the AF forced me to move to Beale AFB, California I then retired from the Air Force in April 2004. After retirement I started my next career as a Computer System Analyst for a government contracting company and returned to Scott AFB in Illinois. Later in 2005 transferred to another position within same company, as a software instructor traveling around training the military. I continued this until this September when I switched careers again and took a new job as a Financial Implementation Consultant with an Accounting software firm. So, in a nut shell I have two children, one girl who is 18yrs and in college and a boy who is 12yrs and active in Boy Scouts and school. I work in a job that allows me to enjoy one of my favorite hobbies, travel and meeting new people. As far as travel here is a list of countries that I have had the good fortune to visit since I left Warren '83: England (to include Scotland and Wales), France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Iraq, Bahrain, Japan, Guam and Puerto Rico. Well, that¿s what I did after high school.
