David's Story
This is my story and I'm sticking to it...
I was born in Waltham - raised in a real tough project where I learned some valuable street smarts mixed with the discipline of paraochial grammar school. Moved to Marlboro in 1960 went to St. Mary's on French hill, where I was unceramoniously asked to leave. I then joined Marlboro public schools. Junior high on Marlboro main street discovering Bibbies pool room and the Colonial across main street.
My first year of Marlboro high school
is a blur now. I remember home room with Mr. Donahue who once caught me horsing around and clobbered me from behind. I ended up at the Marlboro Vocational School where I took up Auto Mechanics.
I learned very little about being a mechanic - just enough to be dangerous. After my 11th year was asked not to return for my senior year. Barely managing to stay out of serious trouble I joined the Marines. Where I was promptly readied for Southeast Asian battle. I managed to dodge the killing fields and returned
to Marlboro with a new outlook. Took advantage of the generous GI bill and struggled academiclly thru 6 years of college ending up with a government funded MBA.

Woodbury of Marlboro and we raised our 3 kids in Shrewsbury. I worked in High Tech industry during 70,80 and 90's - Data General, EMC Corp. until 1998.
In 1997, my son and I established MASS AUTO OUTLET Inc. 556 Massasoit road Worcester, MA. we have been very successful buying and selling used cars on Route 20. Thank you MARLBORO VOCATIONAL. Could not have done it without that minimal auto mechanics exposure back in high school.
In 2004, I traced my Acadian ancestry
and ended up buying my great great grandfathers land and building a house in Cape Breton Nova Scotia. The land is on the world famous Cabot Trail - near the fishing town Cheticamp. Look me up, if you ever pass thru. I am known as HUMMER Dave.
Most recently, I'm involved in restoring MOPAR Dodge/Plymouth muscle cars. These gorgeous cars were such a big part of our american culture - Back then - I could barely afford my 1968 Dodge Charger see picture with unknown Marlboro teen on my hood and smashed left front fender. haha. I paid $400 in 1973. - In 2007, I restored an identical 1968 Charger (same color, interior, white vinyl top) and sold it for $30,000. Happy trails, to be continued...
