Bruce's Story

After Olney, I went to Drexel and graduated in '74 with a BS in Chemistry. Got a job with a little chemical company in South Jersey. Went to grad school at St. Joe's, but took a off for a semester to marry my girl friend (Margo Stark, Olney '70, but I did not meet her until the end of my sophomore year at Drexel). Got my MS in Chemistry in 1979. Changed jobs, but really decided that I wanted to use my chemistry outside the lab setting. Got accepted to Drexel's MBA program and took some undergrad prerequisite courses. Didn't like business at all! So I switched gears and applied to Temple's night law school with the idea of becoming a patent attorney. And that's what I am today, although I retired from Pfizer at the end of June 2018. Along the way, Margo and I had two beautiful daughters. My older daughter graduated college in 2004 and works in marketing for a large company. A couple of years...Expand for more
ago she got married to a very nice young man. My younger daughter graduated college in 2010 and worked for five years in Manhattan for a non-profit organization that helps children who are facing medical challenges.She has now left that job to attend graduate school seeking a Masters in Public Health. In October 2014 my older daughter gave birth to the cutest little boy who has ever graced this world (that is a completely unbiased assessment, right?). So now Margo and I are grandparents, and loving every minute of it. More recently, my older daughter gave birth to the cutest little girl who has ever graced this world (another unbiased assessment! <smile> ). Unfortunately, our grandchildren live three-quarters of the way across the country, but we will try to visit as often as we can. In the meantime we will have to make do with FaceTime video chats. That's my story, and I am sticking to it!
