Annette's Story
Life
Hi!. I'm Annette Arcucci now. I live in Milan, Italy and Lugano, Switzerland. My husband is an economics professor at the University of Bergamo (a gorgeous medieval city, once Venetian, with its Spanish walls still surrounding it). I have two children. I speak fluent Italian, love Italy (the novelty after 38 years has not worn off. The art, the food, the sophistication!). My first four years in Italy was in Rome, where I worked for the Food and Agriculture Organization, an umbrella organization of the United Nations. I ski (St. Moritz, Switzerland), play tennis and water ski, as does my husband and kids. Love museum visiting, gallery exhibitions, and travelling. I've been to over 40 countries. ork is my favorite, although I lived in Wash., D.C. for ten years before moving to Italy where I worked on Capitol Hill for a Rhode Island congressman). We also had a home in Miami, but gave it up a few years ago for distance reasons. I do visit family in Fitchburg/Leominster every now and then when in the States. That's it for now. Annette (Bouchard) Arcucci.
We just (June 14, 2014) celebrated our 30th-year wedding anniversary, and we celebrated it having a religious ceremony in a wonderful basilica here in Milan built in the 15th century. It was a small event, but awesome and elegant. We no longer live contemporaneously also in Lugano, Switzerland, but just in Milan. Our children and grandchildren live between Lugano, Switzerland, and Milano.
