Andrew's Story

I am a proud graduate of Kingswood Regional HS, I attended Lejeune High my Freshman year and Jacksonville Sr High my Sophomore and Junior years... My post High Schools were Naval Technical Training Center at "Cory Station" Pensacola FL, Mainframe and PC computer programming at NSGA Skaggs Island, Remote Information Exchange at Treasure Island, Weather Communications and Observations at NOAA Redwood City & SFO and Computer Information Systems at College of Marin... I didn't get into playing sports till my Senior year, when I was allowed to join the Varsity Baseball team. I wasn't very good though. That changed about a year later. I was a substitute for a softball game against the "Aberdeen Oil Riggers" in Edzell Scotland. I went 3 for 3 with 2 Homers and a Single... For the next 8 years I excelled in Sports: Softball, Football, Basketball and Volleyball (my favorite). I also Coached Women's Softball and played on CO-ED Softball and Volleyball Teams. I was selected as a 1st Baseman for the 1979 ALL NAVY Softball team, but I turned it down. Didn't feel right...Expand for more
about leaving my job in Cryptology to go play softball all over the world... I served 8.5 years in the US Navy, was wounded on 03/23/1979 and was hit by a car 09/05/1983 and have been disabled ever since. I am currently at Stage 3 Renal cancer of my RT kidney. I have extensive education and experience in computer operations, programming, building, and troubleshooting... I am a Classic Rock fan: Chuck Berry, The Beatles, Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alanis Morissette, Halestorm, GFR, Robert M Downey and so many more... I learned to play guitar while Stationed in Scotland and played regularly until about 2004 when I developed essential tremors in my hands and fingers. I still keep trying to get my fingers stronger so I can hold chords down on the fret-board... Go Knights, Devil Pups, NC State Wolfpack, Red Sox, 49ers, SFGiants, Sonoma Stompers... I have friends and family, but no family of my own, absolutely no luck there... I like taking pictures of nature... Would love to see another game in Fenway Park........ My nickname/call-sign is: "Andi" .....
