Alciner's Story

Life Born and raised in North Carolina, I attended college in Raleigh, North Carolina (Saint Augustines' College). Upon finishing college I began teaching Health and Physical Education at an inner-city high school. After teaching for twelve years, I became the Assistant to the Principal (disciplinarian) for a school with an enrollment of 2700 students. I have since received my Masters in Educational Leadership, being certified as a Principal. Currently I am a Principal in charge a Priority School (Grades K-8) at Public School #6 in Paterson. In addition to fulfilling the responsibilities of a Turnaround Principal in a Priority School I am also a Professor at "The Christian University of North Carolina". I recently obtained my Doctorate degree in Ministry. While mantaining a busy life I also am an ordained Asst. Pastor. I recieved my license in 2003 in Ministry as an Asst. Pastor/Evangelist. Currently I am an Ordained Asst Pastor at Paterson Assembly of God in Paterson, New Jersey. I have two lovely children, ranging from 25-29My daughter is a graduate from Tuskegee University in Alabama and is now pursuing her Degree in Pediatric Medicine. magination and it is by the grace of God. Jesus is the center of my life and I serve him faithfully. It is my desire that my life be an example of what God can do in our lives when we allow him to take control of it. My motto for life is "If you can dream it, believe it, and you will achieve it". This is only achieved by trusting God. School My first grade teacher, Mrs. Greenwood, left an astonishing mark on my heart to work hard despite what circumstances we find ourselves in. My fourth grade teacher Mrs. Watson taught me how to stay focused and my 9th grade teacher Mrs. Broadnaux taught me to reach beyond my education level and push harder to get good grades (Her tests in Health were so hard). And finally my guidance counselor Mrs. Morris pushed me to go to college when I had no thought of attending college. She spent endless hours with me at her house and at school. She saw something in me that I never understood, and now I realize that she saw a dream and she encouraged me and pointed me in the right direction to pursue the dream. I thank God for these people daily. I often tell my students of the trailblazers that paved the way for me. I call these teachers, TRAILBLAZERS because they paved the way for me to speak into other students lives years later.
